Where did the heart of ‘Gleanings’ begin? This vision has resided within my spirit for many years, drawing deep inspiration from the biblical journey of Ruth. Her story is one of radical devotion; leaving behind everything familiar to journey alongside her mother-in-law, Naomi. After a season of profound loss, Ruth remained steadfastly loyal, choosing a path of sacrificial love over the comfort of her past. She sustained them by working in the sun-drenched fields, gathering the leftover stalks that others had missed. Through this humble act of gathering what remained, God wove her into the direct lineage of our Savior, Jesus. It is a beautiful reminder that our most ordinary efforts can lead to extraordinary divine grace. I often joke that while Boaz may have noticed her wearing the "Finest in gleaningware - not", it was her heart that truly stood out in those fields. To me, gleaning is the sacred art of finding abundance in the seemingly small things. It means taking the scraps of our daily experiences and, through Christ, refining them into something purposeful and holy. It is about spiritual stewardship—seeing the potential in the quiet moments and the leftovers of our lives. I invite you to join this journey as we gather wisdom from the harvest of our days. Together, let us seek to do more than merely survive the seasons of life; let us cultivate a space where our spirits truly flourish in His presence.
